Prescinto, a seed-stage B2B SaaS startup based in India, was seeking to engage Chief- and VP-level contacts in the Renewable Energy industry within the North American market to test: (a) their core value propositions, (b) an outbound prospecting strategy, and (c) the market’s solution maturity. Prescinto has built an AI-powered platform that enhances the performance of renewable energy and energy storage assets, streamlines operations and maintenance, and maximizes returns for asset owners.
Acquired by IBM in 2024, with the platform folded into IBM Maximo's renewable energy asset performance suite.
The Challenge
Prescinto, a seed-stage B2B SaaS startup based in India, needed to engage Chief- and VP-level contacts in the Renewable Energy industry within North America to test their core value propositions, outbound prospecting strategy, and market solution maturity. The company had built an AI-powered platform enhancing renewable energy and energy storage asset performance. The founding team relied heavily on referrals rather than outbound sales, and needed a targeted accounts list and outbound messaging strategy to consistently engage aligned prospects.
The Solution
JJELLYFISH deployed a team for 90 days to develop and execute a repeatable outbound strategy generating meetings with senior executives at Asset Management & Performance firms. They refined the ICP using publicly available data on company size and revenue segments, assigned Asset Management as the primary problem owner, and shifted Prescinto's qualification process to focus on client problems rather than solution features. Three commercial assumptions were tested regarding customer segments and value propositions.
The Results
Testing revealed that prospects struggling with plant data insights tend to be smaller asset management firms (under 55 employees, under $50M revenue). Protecting financial gain/loss emerged as the most common portfolio management priority, and managing third-party vendors as the biggest pain point for underperforming assets.
Puneet Jaggi, CEOThis gives me all the confidence that we have passed the preverbal test that we set out to pass at the beginning of the project. You have taken the data to a level of detail I wasn't expecting... I can't thank you enough.
